Llandovery, just 30 minutes from the M4 or a scenic drive along the A40, will bring you to this small very picturesque, traditional Welsh market town. It is situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park giving easy access to both the majestic mountain terrain and the leafy pastoral valleys below.

The rich historical heritage going back to Roman times, is reflected both in the remains of the Norman castle and churches and the many fine Georgian houses here. Llandovery is also renowned for having been an important Drovers town where herdsmen gathered from all over South Wales to make their huge cattle drives to London.

Welcome to the website for Ysbryd-y-Gwynt Bunkhouse (formerly The Old Stables Bunkhouse).

Ysbryd-y-Gwynt Bunkhouse (Spirit of the Wind – because the wind gently whispers through the trees!) is approximately 200 years old and was formally a stone cow shed and then stables to a working farm. From 1958 it was used purely as part of the home to the main farmhouse and was eventually converted into a Bunkhouse approximately 14 years ago.

In addition to the main house, barn and Bunkhouse there are a few acres of land which are partly grazed by sheep and horses; this land will be utilised for growing our own organic produce to supply wholesome fresh food to the hungry people who come to stay and for running outdoor courses, retreats and workshops.
